[jamsat-bb:8218] Re: AO-40BEACON

Network Server Setup
A simple network socket server function can be enabled that will allow
one client to connect to the specified server socket. Whenever a block
of telemetry data(good or bad CRC) data is received, it is sent to the
 connected client.
The desired socket number can be entered in the edit box.
The two data block formats can be selected. If the "P3T Format Data"
is selected, the data blocks are formated as 8 byte header + 512 data
bytes + 2 CRC bytes; the format used by the P3T telemetry display pr
ogram.
If the "AO40 Frame Data" is selected, then the data blocks are the four
 AO40 sync bytes(0x39,0x15,0xED,0x30 ) + the 512 data bytes + two CRC
 bytes.
If the "Frequency Data" mode is selected, then the current receive audio
frequency is continuously sent in the following 4 byte format:
[0x46][0x3D][msb][lsb] where [msb, lsb] is the 16 bit integer frequency
value.
Example:
If the current frequency is 1532Hz, then the following would be sent out the
 socket.
[0x46][0x3D][0x05][0xFC]
If no signal is being decoded, the frequency of 0 is sent.
The frequency data is updated every 256mSec when the soundcard is used.
It is sent somewhat faster when reading from a wave file.
Connection Status is displayed on the main screen if the Server function is
 enabled.
Using AO40Rcv to send data to the P3T Program
One can usually connect up to the P3T program on the same computer by
setting up P3T as a Client.
One must have the Windows TCP/IP installed and functional on your PC.
Enable the Network server option in AO40Rcv, pick a socket number, and
make sure the AO40Sync box is NOT checked. The status "Net Listening"
should show up on the main screen.
On P3T, go to the menu -- TCP/IP and select the Client mode.
Enter as the Host TCP/IP address the name "loopback' or "127.0.0.1" or
 your computer network name.
Make sure the port number matches the socket number setting in AO40Rcv.
Click "Connect" and the two programs should be connected.
If your modem dialup menu pops up, just hit cancel.
Some systems may not allow this loopback mode so just try it and see what
happens.
