ＡＯ−１０はこのところ大変好調です。周期的な深いＱＳＢの谷間を除いては、遠地点に近い所でもダウンリンクの信号が良好に受信できます。現在、ＡＯ−１０は近地通過後の約７０分間は「食」（地球の陰になって太陽光が当たらない域）に入ります。この時間帯には、ＡＯ−１０は完全に機能を停止してしまいます。この「食」は１月２９日に終わります。また、ＡＯ−１０の Argumennt of Perigee（近地点引数）は現在、約２８０度です。これは、近地点が最も南に下がっている状態であり、逆に遠地点は北緯の高い緯度になることを意味します。Argumennt of Perigee は１日当たり約０．２６度増大しています。１９９９年中は、遠地点が北半球に留まった状態が続きますが、現在すでに後南下を始めています。 ＮＯＲＡＤは３ヵ月以上の間ＡＯ−１０の軌道要素を更新しておりません。（訳注：今年始めからAMSAT-JAMSAT配信の軌道要素にはＡＯ−１０の最新の軌道要素が含まれています) Ｇ３ＲＵＨ／James Miller 氏によって開発された更正用ソフトとハードウエアと、私がＷｉｎ９５ ＯＳのもとに組み込んだ軌道計算ソフトとを使って新しい軌道要素を計算したものを添付しておきます。

Current Status: 1999,01,20
AO-10 is currently functioning extremely well. Except for cyclic periods of deep QSB, good downlink signals can be heard even out near apogee. AO-10 is currently experiencing eclipses of approx. 70 minutes duration after every perigee. During these periods, the satellite is completely dead. This eclipse cycle will end on January 29th. AO-10's orbit is also currently at an Argument of Perigee of approx. 280 degs. This means that the perigee point is close to the satellite's lowest southern orbital latitude, and the apogee, conversely is very high in the northern latitudes. The Argument of Perigee is increasing at rate of approximately 0.26 deg/day. Throughout 1999, apogee will remain in the northern hemisphere, but has now begun moving southward. NORAD has not posted new keplerian elements for AO-10 for over three months. Using ranging software and hardware developed by James Miller/G3RUH and orbital software ported by me to the Win95 OS, new keplerian elements have been calculated. These are posted at the end of the page.
