AMSAT-bb に、こんな投稿がありました。

軌道計算プログラムのことでちょっと混乱しています。最初に断って
おきますが、これは各プログラムの評価をしている訳ではありません。
問題が私のシステムのどこにあるか、どこを探せばいいのかを知りたい
のです。

起動要素:先週に入手した通常の (AO-40 の)起動要素を、Ken の #3
要素に加え、それぞれの軌道計算プログラムに読みこませました。
> Computers are:- Pentium 166, 64 Meg RAM. DX4-100 16 Meg RAM
> Laptop 486/33 8 Meg RAM.
パソコン:Pentium 166 と 64MB RAM。DX4-100 と 16MB RAM、それと
ラップトップ 486-33 と 8MB RAM。
> STSplus in DX4 and Pentium, times within seconds, updated by NIST.
> Orb # 11 when AO-40 Telemetry shows 9. not important, maybe I got

STSplus を DX4 と Pentium 機に導入、時刻は秒単位で NIST で補正。
AO-40 のテレメトリが #9 と言っているオービット番号は #11、ただし
これは打上日を 11/16 20:00z と誤って入れたためで、重要な問題点で
は無いでしょう。

それぞれの出力する高度の違いは 3000km 以内ですが、互いに異なって
います。

※右の注釈:各ソフトは Pentium 用に設定済み。もちろん、それぞれ
のソフトの開始時刻の違いから多少の差は出ますが、こんなに大きく
は無いですよね?。

Pentium 機で予測に使った軌道要素は皆同じもので、AO-40が可視範囲
にない時でもチェックを行ないました。追加した AO-40 の軌道要素は
数回、確認のため打ち直しを行なうなどして確認したものです。

そのため、私はどれを信用すればいいのか全くわからなくなりました。
どこかに、どれが正解か確認することのできるサイトはありませんか?。

繰り返しますが、私は私のシステムの問題点を探しているのであって、
プログラムの問題点を探しているのではありません。それらのプログラ
ムは多数のハムによって動作が確認されているからです。

この長文を読んでくれてありがとう。これは衛星経由で交信することに
は大した問題とはならないでしょうが、デジタル衛星は早い速度で動い
ていくので、システムの設定にミスがあれば、追尾に失敗するかも知れ
ません。

各プログラムが出力する「高度」の結果に違いがあることから、自分
が何か間違った設定をしているのではないか、と心配しているようです
ね。高度以外の、同一時刻の方位とか仰角の違いがあったのかについて
は言及が無いようですし、それぞれのプログラムが出力する「高度」が
どこから衛星までの距離なのか(観測点?、直下点?、地球の中心?、
たぶん直下点でしょうが)なども、それらを使ったことがないので何と
も言えないですね。
またこれは、それぞれのプログラムが持つ計算コア処理の精度の問題、
と言う気もしますが、何にしても、私にはよくわからないのでコメント
は投稿しませんでした。
計算結果がソフトによってどう違うか、時間があったら検証してみた
い気もします。
