AMSAT-France の F6AGR/ J. L. RAULT 会長から、衛星 IDEFIX の QSLカードに
使用されている JPG画像ファイルの転載許可を取得しました。 一連のメールの
やりとりを公開してよいということなので、ここに紹介します。 なお、ご承知
のように、この QSLカードの写真の下部に、ji1izr/眞田さんの発案による衛星
の和名が印字されています。そして その背景が、今回話題のフランス北西部の
ブルターニュ地方の衛星写真ということです。

I studied a word 'Breizh' of BO-47/48 (IDEFIX).
This word means maybe 'Bretagne' in France
with Breton or Celtic language ?

私 (脇田) は、衛星 IDEFIX (BO-47/48) に付けられている、 'Breizh' という
言葉について調べてみました。この言葉は、たぶん ブルトン語 か ケルト語で
フランスのブルターニュ地方を意味するのではないでしょうか？
KENAVO : ケルト語
AU REVOIR : フランス語
GOOD BYE : 英語
SAYOUNARA : 日本語 (いずれも「さようなら」の意味)

Y're right, Mineo !
FO-xx, like France Oscar, was already used by your japanese Fuji Oscar
12, 20 and 29.
IO-xx like IDEFIX Oscar was already used by the italian IO-26.
So we decided to use Breizh, which means Bretagne in Breton language.
Most part of the IDEFIX project team has family roots in that beautiful
west part of France.

Yes please, and thank you for promoting my lovely Bretagne country in
Japan ! Many Japanese tourists visit only Paris and Versailles,
I'm sure they would enjoy also that nice west part of France.
You know what ? My brother in law is a scientist studying fishes,
shells, plancton, etc in Bretagne.
He has very often japanese students working with him because there are
interested in sea food and sea biology studies.

何のことだかわかりますか？ 私の義理の兄弟が、ブルターニュの魚類・貝類・
プランクトンなどを研究する科学者をしています。彼は、魚介類と海洋生物学の
研究に興味がある日本の学生を何度も受け持ち、共に研究しています。
