＜1998年5月26日の状況＞
ＡＯ−１０の信号強度は、この数週間に劇的に改善しています。今週期の最低点は４月２４日にあったと推定することが出来そうです。こうした状況から判断して、私（W4SM)の前回のALON/ALATについての「推測」は若干の修正が必要です。
４月２４日にビーコンが弱いながらも入感していたこと、その後の状況が大きく改善してきているものの、まだ最大点とは言えない状況であることを考慮して、衛星の姿勢におおまかにでも合致するようなALON/ALATの算出を試みてみました。
1998年4月24日のALON/ALATが100/25であるとすると、その時点での日光照射は17%となり、ビーコンが時折聞こえることが説明できます。その後次第に姿勢が変化して1998年5月26日にはALON/ALATは97/23となり、日光照射が48%になったと思われます。これは、現在観測されている状況から、さほど大きく外れていることはないと考えます。そこで...
私のALON/ALATを5月26日の時点での「推測」を97/23とし、太陽の角度を+60度、48%の照射率とすると、今年の6月28日のフィールド・デーでは、ＡＯ−１０は立派な役割を果たすことになり得ると予測します。その時点での日光照射率は８６％にも達すると思われます。 他により精度の高い予測情報があれば歓迎します。
前にも述べましたが、現状では高利得アンテナが動作しているものと思われます。

Current Status: 1998,05,26
AO-10's signals have improved dramatically in the last several weeks. As best
I can determine, the low point of this cycle occurred on approximately
April 24th. Based on these observations, it is clear that my old
"guestimation" of ALON/ALAT is in need of some adjustment. Given that the
beacon was still weakly audible even on April 24th and current performance is
much improved but still not maximal, I've looked at the attitude tables and
tried to find an ALON/ALAT that would roughly fit these observations.
If the orientation on 1998/4/24 were ALON/ALAT = 100/25, then the illumination
at that time would have been 17%, probably enough to occasionally hear the
beacon. With precession and movement, the orientation on 1998/05/26 would be
ALON/ALAT = 97/23 and illumination would be 48%. That doesn't seem too far
off from observations. Therefore....
My guestimated ALON/ALAT for 1998/05/26 is 97/23, giving a solar angle of
+60 degs, and 48% illumination. This suggests that AO-10 will be a "player"
for this year's field day activities.....given my estimates, on June 28th,
illumination should be up to 86%. Better informed estimates are welcome.
As noted previously, the Hi-Gain antennas do appear to be currently active.
