The FO-29 command of the JARL decided to operate FO-29's Digitalker
between 1999-Mar-01 and 1999-Mar-05.  What follows is the remainder
of FO-29's current operating schedule:

Fri 1999-Mar-05 -to- Mon 1999-Mar-08  Mode JA
Mon 1999-Mar-08 -to- Thu 1999-Mar-18  Mode JD @ 1200 baud

* AMSAT-NA ANNUAL MEETING CALL FOR PAPERS *
===========================================
The 17th AMSAT-NA Annual Meeting and Space Symposium will be held October 
8-11, 1999 at the Hanalei Hotel in San Diego, California, USA.  This is the 
first call to authors who wish to present papers at the Symposium and that 
will be printed in the proceedings.  The Subject matter of the papers should
be topics of interest to the amateur radio satellite service.  Key dates in 
calling for and submitting papers are:

One page abstracts are due no later than May 1, 1999.

Authors will be advised by e-mail or postal mail shortly after June 1, 1999 
regarding whether their paper has been accepted.

Camera ready copy of accepted papers is due no later than August 1, 1999.  
Papers will only be superficially edited and will be printed generally as 
submitted.  Authors are requested to provide an electronic copy of their
presentations preferably in any version of Word or WordPerfect in the event 
corrections are required at the last minute.

Receipt of submissions will be confirmed.

Proceedings of the Symposium will be printed by the ARRL and made available 
at and after the meeting.  Also, if you do not wish to present a paper, but 
have a topic of interest, please submit the topic and perhaps arrangements 
can be made for a presentation.

* NEW SATELLITE PROPOSAL *
==========================
The Colorado Space Grant Consortium is proposing the launch and operation of
a small satellite called Citizen Explorer for use in educational activities.
They are informing the community of the plans for the satellite and soliciting
comments.  They have begun the frequency coordination process through AMSAT
and are posting this for wider community response.

The Consortium's proposed frequencies are...

	Uplink   : 145.860 MHz
	Downlink : 436.750 MHz

* SUNSAT NEWS *

The SUNSAT satellite continues to perform well in space.  Engineering
tests are currently taking place on the satellite.  SUNSAT is not
expected to be available for general use until at least the end of
March when these tests are complete.
