amsat-bbに流れていた情報を紹介します。

スタンフォード大学で行われている OPAL というピコサテライトのプロジェクトの
成果の一部として、アマチュア衛星である ステンサット（StenSat）が、10月4日に
打ち上げられる予定です。その大きさは、12インチだそうです。１辺が12インチ
（約30cm）の立方体ということではなくて、写真を見ると、縦横高さを合計すると
12インチということのようです。高さを考えなければ、3.5インチのフロッピー
ディスクくらいの感じです。

OPALプロジェクトでは、打ち上げ後の数日間に StenSatから AX.25パケットで送られて
くるテレメトリを受信して報告してくれるボランティアを募集しています。それだけ
でなく、衛星に DTMFでコマンドを送って衛星のモードを変更する管制作業を援助して
くれるボランティアも同様に募集しています。ボランティア作業に関心のあるかた、
作業に協力できるかたは、 hheidt@erols.com にメールをくださいということです。

上記のホームページによれば、StenSatは、AO-27と同様に１チャンネルだけ FMの
ボイスレピーターです。アップリンクは 145.84MHz、ダウンリンクは 436.625 MHzです。
打ち上げは、バンデンバーグ米空軍基地からで、この打ち上げに、６つのピコ
サテライトが乗るようです。

また、別のWebページによれば、この OPALと同時に ASU-Satも乗るようです。
また、JawSat、FalconSat という衛星も乗るようですが、これらがアマチュア衛星
なのかどうかはよくわかりません。

Hello everyone,

On October 4, 1999 Stanford University's OPAL, Orbiting Picosatellite
Automated Launcher, experiment is scheduled to be launched.   Included in
this experiment is our small (12 cubic inch) StenSat amateur radio
picosatellite.

We are looking for volunteers to monitor and help control our
picosatellite.  We are particularly interested in getting (AX.25) telemetry
reports in the days and hours after the launch.  Also, we are looking for
volunteer control operators who can help us switch the operating modes of
StenSat by transmitting standard DTMF tones. 

If you are interested in volunteering or if you capture any AX.25 telemetry
