W4SM Stacey E. Mills 氏の Web Page に掲載されたAO−10の近況です。また、文
中に出ている AO-10 の軌道要素と、「食」予測を添付します。

1998年12月01日の状況

AO−10はこのところ大変好調です。周期的な深いQSBの谷間を除いては、遠地
点に近い所でもダウンリンクの信号が良好に受信できます。現在、AO−10は近地
点通過後の30−45分間は「食」(地球の陰になって太陽光が当たらない域:訳注)
に入ります。この時間帯には、AO−10は完全に機能を停止してしまいます。
また、AO−10の Argument of Perigee は現在270度に近くなっています。
これは、近地点が最も南に下がっている状態であり、逆に遠地点は北緯の高い緯度に
なることを意味します。1999年中は、遠地点が北半球に留まった状態が続きます
が、その後南下し始めるでしょう。NORADは3ヵ月以上の間AO−10の軌道要
素を更新しておりません。 G3RUH/James Miller 氏によって開発された更正用
ソフトとハードウエアと、私が Win95 OSのもとに組み込んだ軌道計算ソフト
とを使って新しい軌道要素を計算したものを添付しておきます。

Current Status: 1998,12,01
AO-10 is currently functioning extremely well.  Except for cyclic periods of 
deep QSB, good downlink signals can be heard even out near perigee.  AO-10 is 
currently experiencing eclipses of 30-45 minutes duration after every perigee.
During these periods, the satellite is completely dead.  AO-10 is also 
currently at an Argument of perigee of approx. 270 degs.  This means that the
perigee point is at the satellite's lowest southern orbital latitude, and the
apogee, conversely is as high as possible in the northern latitudes.  
Throughout 1999, apogee will remain in the northern hemisphere, but will begin
moving southward. NORAD has not posted new keplerian elements for AO-10 for 
over three months.  Using ranging software and hardware developed by James 
Miller/G3RUH and orbital software ported by me to the Win95 OS, new keplerian 
elements have been calculated.  These are posted at the end of the page.
